Fifty years ago, two young people who had found each other in Sri Lanka said 'I do' in Canada — and everything that followed began with that promise.

Errol and Rosemary's love story started on the island where they were both born, stretched across an ocean through years of letters and long distance, and came together on August 7, 1976, when they married in Vancouver, British Columbia. From there they built a life — first in New Jersey, then in Illinois — that grew into something neither of them could have imagined standing on that street in Nugegoda all those years ago. Nine grandchildren later, that story is still being written.

We are Erik and Lauren, their children, and we made this little corner of the internet to gather the people who have been part of that story. If you know our parents — as family, as friends, as colleagues, as neighbours — we'd love for you to leave them a message, share a memory, or record a short video. Please leave something.
